Goes Without Saying...

The future of this world has long been declared, the final outcome between good and evil is already known. There is absolutely no question as to who wins because the victory has already been posted on the scoreboard. The only really strange thing in all of this is that we are still down here on the field trying to decide which team's jersey we want to wear!

Reminders to Self on Parenting...

Seek first to understand, then to be understood
-Covey

More important than speaking is listening.
-Jeffery R. Holland

If we wish away the moments they will be gone. The things that we wanted to leave-the mess, the noise, the obligations- will be gone, but so will the children! This is true with every moment of life. If we do not see its joys, if we do not make the most of it, it will pass- and so will it's opportunities.
-Jaroldeen Edwards

Sometimes weaknesses challenge weaknesses. Maybe the child who needs patience the most has the trick of exasperating you almost past endurance. Maybe the child with a flaring temper that needs control, repeatedly kindles your own temper. Whether at peace or at loggerheads, the two of you are joined together... You have lesson's to teach each other, and once you've weathered the process, you will each be more of what your Heavenly Father knows you are capable of being.
-Beppie Harrison

Do not find fault with every trifling error that you may see, for this will discourage your family, and they will begin to think that it is impossible to please you: and, after a while, they will become indifferent as to wether they please you or not. How unhappy and extremely wretched is that family where nothing pleases- where scolding has become almost as natural as breathing.
-Orson Pratt

Filling my Spiritual Tank...

Obedience brings forth blessings. Exact Obedience brings forth miracles!

I know in who I have trusted.
-Stephen E. Robinson

Your Father in Heaven knows your name and knows your circumstance. He hears your prayers. He knows your hopes and dreams, including your fears and frustrations. And He knows what you can become through faith in Him...Seek to comprehend the significance of these doctrines.
-Jeffrey R. Holland

I hope for you the very best that life has to offer, but I hope even more for a few simple things- things that come of the heart, things that come of the spirit, things that come of the divine within each of us.

When all is said and done, when you have lived your life and grown old as I am, you will recognize that it is the simple virtues that count, that make the great difference in our lives...

When all is said and done, our success in life will not be spelled out in the money we make, in the honor we attain, in the plaudits of men, but in those virtues which become the essence of that which is greatest within each of us.
-Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley

Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with friends and family.
-Pres. Thomas S. Monson

Simplification goes way beyond organization. It is not having "it" so you don't have to organize "it". It's not buying "it", looking for "it", subscribing to "it", insuring "it", building "it", or worrying about "it" in the first place.

Striking the proper balance is one of the keenest tests of our agency. Therefore, we need to ask regularly for inspiration in the use of our time and in the making of our daily decisions. So often our hardest choices are between competing desirable alternatives (each with righteous consequences), when there is not time to do both at once. Indeed, it is at the mortal intersections- where time and talent and opportunities meet- that priorities, like traffic lights, are sorely needed. Quiet, sustained goodness, is the order of heaven, not conspicuousness but episodic busyness."
-Elder Neal A. Maxwell

Have no doubt in your mind when you turn your light off at night, that you did your best that day. Then, proceed to count your blessings. Be grateful for what you have, not wishful for what you don't have.
-Kara Liston
