Independence Day:

What a weekend!
To start out with, I had to be over to the park at 6:00 a.m. on Sat. to set up for the town breakfast, so Joe was in charge of getting the kids up and fed, he dropped Corinne off at the park at 8:00 and ran with the boys while they rode there bikes in the parade...SUPER DAD- hey, he even remembered our girls bow, impressive.

Dustin made our boys day by stopping over to take them for a spin just as we were getting home from the park:

As if they needed more excitement! They were on cloud nine...they got a couple of new trick bikes we bought 2nd hand from a neighbor of ours (that's the way I roll). As far as they were concerned they could be straight off of the show room floor. We have practically had to pry them off the bikes for survival purposes (food and water).

We headed up to the hills for the afternoon to my sister-in-law's (Brenda) property. It is sooo beautiful up there, and such a relaxing way to spend the afternoon. Felt like we were in heaven.

And things kept going... We headed to a FANTASTIC BBQ thrown by our very talented friends Blake and Jessica, he smokes meat that practically melts in your mouth, and she makes some downright mean sauce! We went home and settled in and watched a fireworks show in our very own driveway... then headed in and passed out in bed. The makings of a wonderful, yet exhausting 4th of July.

  1. Wow, you guys kept so busy for the 4th!! It's nice that you got the bikes second hand and your boys had no idea!! I'll have to try that!

  2. How fun! The Fourth of July is definitely one of my favorites - it's beginning to compete with Christmas. You have the cutest little family. *
